Self-Exclusion: How to Take a Break From Gaming
Self-exclusion is a way to restrict your own access to gaming services. It can be an important protective step when playing is no longer enjoyable or is affecting your life.
No games or account services provided hereWhat is self-exclusion?
Self-exclusion is a voluntary restriction designed to prevent or limit a person’s access to specified gaming accounts or services. Depending on the operator and jurisdiction, it may be temporary, long-term or permanent. A platform-level exclusion and a state-administered exclusion program are not automatically the same thing.
Exclusion rules, reinstatement conditions and scope vary. Read the applicable program’s terms carefully and do not assume one request covers every operator.
When should you consider it?
- You repeatedly play for longer than intended.
- You are trying to recover losses or solve financial problems through gaming.
- Gaming causes arguments, secrecy or distress.
- Time limits or other voluntary controls have not worked.
- You want a firm break that does not rely solely on willpower.
You do not need a formal diagnosis to choose a break or ask for help.
How to request exclusion from a gaming operator
- Visit the operator’s official site or app directly.
- Find its responsible gameplay, account settings or self-exclusion area.
- Read the available durations, restrictions and account-balance rules.
- Complete the required identity or account confirmation.
- Save any confirmation and ask support if you cannot verify your account’s status.
Do not send personal documents or account passwords to independent review or affiliate websites.
Shuffle.us account controls
Shuffle.us says users can request self-exclusion through the Self-exclusion tool on the Shuffle Wise dashboard. Its help center also refers to temporary or permanent exclusion from the Shuffle Wise page.
Use the operator’s live policy and help documentation before acting: Shuffle.us responsible social gameplay policy; official account-closure guidance.
We cannot submit, confirm or reverse a Shuffle.us exclusion for you.
What happens to balances and access?
How an operator treats remaining promotional balances, pending redemptions, communications and future reactivation depends on its current policy, verification status and applicable rules. Do not assume that a balance is refundable or redeemable simply because an exclusion was requested.
Ask the operator’s official support team about your specific account before making assumptions. Do not postpone an urgent protective step solely to pursue a speculative reward.
Make the break easier to maintain
- Remove saved bookmarks and promotional notifications.
- Consider blocking access to gaming sites or advertising.
- Let a trusted person know what support would help.
- Make a plan for time previously spent gaming.
- Seek specialized counseling or peer support if urges persist.
Technical blocks and operator exclusions can work together, but neither guarantees protection across all platforms.
